About El Norteño

El Norteño Market and Deli was born in 1996 when sisters Estela and Clementina decided to bring the traditional flavors of Mexican cooking from their hometown of Chihuahua, Mexico, to the beautiful Longfellow community in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

All of us at El Norteño will make you feel right at home, providing friendly service as well as the freshest Mexican food. Most of our food is sourced from local and fresh ingredients. We offer something for everyone, accommodating meat-eaters, vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diets. If you have a special dietary restriction, please ask us and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

When you’re here, come and enjoy the rain garden and the beautiful patio! The environment is very important for us at El Norteño. That is why our restaurant runs with 50% solar power that converts the sunshine into energy and helps us make the food we serve you!
